Home Run Derby
Home Run Derby Rules
Old School Version:
2 brackets will be formed. Each batter will get 15 swings to hit as many home runs as possible. Half of the competitors will move onto the next round, those with the most home runs, and so on until there are 2 remaining competitors.
The final round each batter will get 10 swings to hit as many home runs as possible.
If a tie occurs at any point, those competitors will get 10 swings to hit as many home runs as possible. The batter with the most will move on to the next round.
Modern Version:
2 brackets will be formed with competitors going head to head.
Batters have 1 minute and 30 seconds each to hit as many home runs as they can. The finals will be 1 minute. They are allowed to take as many swings as they would like as they do not face a penalty for swinging and failing to hit a home run. The clock starts as soon as the first pitch is thrown. Players can take one timeout at any point during the round.
If there is a tie at any point other than the final round, a swing off will occur where each batter gets 10 swings to hit as many home runs as possible.
If a tie occurs in the final round each batter will get another minute to hit as many home runs as possible.
